Chandler Communications is the provider of bus stop shelters in the Flathead Valley. As Eagle Transit, the Valley’s operational transit system, has prepared for and executed rapid growth over the past 2 1/2 years, Chandler has confidently kept stride to ensure that bus patrons have a safe, comfortable place to rest as they wait for transportation. As plans for more buses, routes and bus shelters begin to unfold, Chandler Communications has taken a stand for the local community and brought the job of bus shelter production home.
In early 2011, all design and construction of the shelters, formerly produced by a national manufacturing firm out of state, was moved right into the Flathead Valley. Damon Designs, owned by Gregg Hanzel of Kalispell, Montana, has taken officially taken over the manufacturing process. Normally specializing in ornamental iron, Damon Designs has both the expertise and the manpower to produce solid, safe and permanent shelters for the local bus patrons.
Megan Copas, Market Development Manager for Chandler Communications in Kalispell, speaks for Chandler when she says, “There’s just something about working with a small, well-run company like Damon Designs and knowing that the owner’s going to pick up his own phone and help you out when you need something done. These guys do excellent work, and every dollar that goes into these shelters gets pushed right back into our local economy – that makes us feel good about what we’re doing here.”
